Middleton Good Neighbor Festival Parade - Float Building

The theme of the parade this year is "Sporty at Forty", celebrating the 40th Good Neighbor Festival.

The current plans for our Pack 82 float is to build a life size Pinewood Derby Car with a 1960's theme to be "Sporty at Forty". We need ideas from parents and scouts on how to incorporate NASCAR and 1960's themes into costumes and parade float decorations.

Our float will be judged against other Middleton area youth groups. Prize money and prestige are on the line.

Please contact John Van Haren at 798-2322 with ideas before the August 21st float meeting party (see below).

Float Building Party
The Pack 82 Float Building Party is scheduled for Thursday, August 21st at 6:30 pm at the Van Haren's (5637 Enchanted Valley Road). Take Hwy K six miles west from Highway 12 at Ashton Corners. Turn left on Enchanted Valley Road. They are the third house on the right.

Please bring paint brushes and sharpie pens. A parent should accompany each scout. Boys interested in becoming new Pack 82 scouts are welcome to join us.

NOTE: If you are unable to make the float building party, you can still march with us in the parade.

Parade
The Good Neighbor Festival Parade is on Sunday, August 24th. Please meet at 11:30 am (eat before hand) at the Middleton outdoor pool parking lot on Park Lawn. We'll hike together to the beginning of the route and our float. Each scout should bring the following with them:
  • Water Bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Pack 82 Hat (if you have one)
  • Cool Clothing (short-sleeved uniform,
    day camp t-shirt or costume)

NOTE: NO toy weapons, knives, swords, etc. allowed. Also please no silly string.

Parent and siblings are invited to march along with us. Boys interested in becoming new members of our Pack are also invited to participate. PLEASE MAKE SURE SOMEONE IS AT THE END OF THE PARADE TO MEET YOUR CHILD.

We would like to get an idea of how many people are planning to march in the parade. Please contact the Kjorlie's (831-5234) by Thursday, August 21st with your count.

Cub Scout Day Camp

Cub Scout Day Camp was held this year on July 1-3 at Festge Park outside of Cross Plains. The theme this year was "Treasures of the Sea".

Campers enjoyed three full days of camp fun and activities including fishing, archery, bb gun, obstacle course, rope tieing, beading, music, food, etc.

There was over 160 energetic area cub scouts and their siblings that attended. Twenty of which were from Pack 82.

A big "Thank You" goes out to the 11 Pack 82 parents that chaperoned or assisted with the camp stations. Without volunteers like you this camp would not be possible.
